The Nassau County Poet Laureate Society awarded Jennifer Potts, Freeport High School senior a $250 scholarship award on June 15, 2015 at the Freeport HS. NCPL Dr. Mario Susko presented the award to Jennifer who excelled in writing and poetry and will be going on to higher education.
Jennifer Potts has a GPA of 90.12, has successfully completed four honors classes, participates in extracurricular activities and sports, is a member of the National Honor Society and the National Society of High School Scholars, is President of the Aids Awareness Club, volunteers for UNICEF, works at the Methodist Church counting and organizing offerings and working as a volunteer in the soup kitchen. She is a key member of Flashings (school newspaper).
Jennifer will attend Nassau Community College where she plans to study Anthropology and dreams of a career as a Forensic Anthropologist.
