CONTEST REQUIREMENTS

• Entry fee: ONE poem $5.00, THREE poems $13.00, FIVE poems $18.00.
• Suggested length: poem should not exceed one page.
• Nassau County residency not required. All are welcome to submit poems.
• Previously published poems are not accepted.
• Poems submitted must be for a general audience. No profanity.
• Entries must include a maximum fifty-word biography. Bios will be edited for word count.

HOW TO ENTER

Submit your poems online and 50-word biography below via the Poetry Contest form. Fill out the required information and pay the contest fee with PayPal or a credit card. If you cannot pay online, mail a check payable to The Nassau County Poet Laureate Society to:

Entries without payment will not be considered. No hard copies of poems will be accepted. The winners will be announced at the annual May 2026 NCPLS Award Ceremony. All winning poems will be published in the 2026 NCPLS Review. Editors will consider all other entries for publication in the 2026 NCPLS Review.
